The Badger Report is a collaborative effort from the students in Journalism 419,
Electronic News
for the Web and Broadcast. The course turns into a working newsroom,
where students research, write, videotape, edit and produce a weekly live, streamed newscast.
The class has evolved from being a traditional television news course into one that focuses on video storytelling, while also developing a multimedia approach to reporting.
Hoofer Rail Jam
The University of Wisconsin was buried in twenty tons of snow and not because it's almost winter!
The third annual Hoofer Rail Jam was Thursday, November 17, a freestyle competition for some of the Midwest's best snowboarders and skiers to show off their craziest tricks.
"It's something I like to do, it brings snowboarding to Madison, which a lot of people don't get to see, so it's fun when there is a crowd around just to give it your all and go for it," said Nate Latvi.

Participants had three rails to choose from and competed across two stories of scaffolding.
"I competed in last years rail jam and thought it was a sick event because there as a ton of people, the whole memorial union was packed, and having a rail jam like that is just awesome," said Hoofer Free Style Director Kenny Coyner.
This year the Hoofer Rail Jam took place at union south. A bigger venue, with more spectator space. This is the first year Hoofer partnered with the Wisconsin Union Directorate Music who had live DJS playing throughout the night.
