WELCOME TO THE RIVER FOOD PANTRY!

ACCORDING TO THE PROGRAM MANAGER, HELEN ASBORN-SENATUS, COUNTING BOTH GROCERIES AND HOLIDAY BOXES, THIS WEEK THE RIVER FOOD PANTRY IS GIVING OUT 175 POUNDS OF GROCERIES.

“WE’RE HANDING OUT HAMS, TURKEYS OR CHICKENS. WE ARE ALSO GIVING EVERYBODY A COOKING PAN, A PIE CRUST AND A BOX WITH IN GREDIENTS FOR THANKSGIVING.”

THE RIVER FOOD PANTRY IS DOING THEIR BEST TO SERVE THE COMMUNITY IN THE MIDST OF A PANDEMIC.

“IT’S REALLY PICKED UP AS FAR AS THE VOLUME OF PEOPLE COMING THROUGH AND THERE IS JUST A LOT OF PEOPLE HAVING A HARD TIME RIGHT NOW AND ARE VERY APPRECIATIVE OF GETTING SOME EXTRA SUPPORT.”

VOLUNTEERS ARE GETTING BOXES READY SO THAT CUSTOMERS DO NOT HAVE TO GO INTO THE WAREHOUSE. NEXT WEEK THE FOOD PANTRY WILL BE PROVIDING A TOGO HOLIDAY MEAL.

“WE CAN’T LET ANYONE IN UNLESS THEY ARE A VOLUNTEER. WE DON’T WANT TO PASS THE SPREAD, WE DON’T WANT TO BE A SUPER SPREADER WE WANNA JUST GIVE OUT FOOD.”
